Dumas Malone Graduate Research Fellowship

The trustees of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation, Inc. established the Dumas Malone Fellowship in honor of Mr. Malone's service to the University and the Foundation. The fellowship was initiated to support the research of outstanding, advanced graduate students with a need to investigate archives, or other repositories of information, in a foreign country or countries.

 

Albert Gallatin Graduate Research Fellowship

Deadline:  Friday, March 1, 2024

Sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation, these fellowships are awarded to support graduate students who are engaged in the research or writing of a dissertation in the broad area of "international affairs" and whose research requires travel.

 

The Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) Summer Research Awards

Deadline:  Friday, March 1, 2024

Sponsored by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, the purpose of these awards is to stimulate preliminary dissertation research for students who are at or near the dissertation proposal stage. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to support graduate students as they visit archives and museums; engage in pre-field analysis and logistics and survey available sources in order to sharpen focus on a dissertation topic; and better position themselves for larger future dissertation research and writing awards. Eligibility: Applicants must be Ph.D. students in an arts, humanities or social sciences field who are no more than three years into their course of study.
