This event is organized by the UVA Postdoc Association's Diversity and Community Outreach Committee and is open to graduate students who are interested in attending. Please make sure to RSVP! "The Science of Self-Care & Stress Management" is led by neuroscientist, Dr. Catherine Franssen of Franssen Strategies, a female-owned business, on Friday, January 20th from 2:30-4 PM at McKim Hall's BIMS Education Center (room 1023) on the UVA Grounds. This will be a 3-part, interactive workshop whereby you will learn some basics on the neuroscience of stress, how to define and reorganize stress, and participate in small group activities on how to better manage stress and improve your own self-care strategies. There is no cost to participate, but we do ask that you please register to join us as spots are limited. You are welcome to bring friends. Snacks and beverages will be provided. There will be breaks in-between the 3 parts, so you may come and go as needed to manage your workday. If you would like, please consider making a one-time donation to Sasha Bruce Youthwork. For this event, we suggest a donation of $5-10. You can make a donation at any time before, during, or after the event. We will be collecting donations for the entire month of January as part of this fundraising initiative. We hope you'll join us for this truly essential workshop and improve how you manage stress in your life as a graduate student starting in 2023! Registration
