The first session of the Academic Job Search Series, Orienting the Search, is intended to provide job seekers with a broad overview of how to approach the search for an academic position. The first half of the session will include a panel discussion with experienced UVA faculty members who have lead faculty hiring committees as well as recenlty hired faculty who have navigated their own successful searches. Participants should come prepared with questions for the speakers about how to best approach the search for an academic position.
