2 UVA Postdocs Selected for NPA Initiatives

Two postdoctoral scholars at the University of Virginia have been selected to participate in prestigious professional development initiatives provided by the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA). These opportunities offer valuable opportunities for nationwide networking, advocacy, and professional visibility.

Emma Wilson-Lemoine — postdoctoral researcher with the Thriving Youth in a Digital Environment (TYDE) program in the Department of Psychology — has been named a 2025–2026 NPA IMPACT Fellow. The NPA IMPACT Fellowship provides a 16-month, interactive fellowship designed to support early-career researchers. Through IMPACT, fellows gain access to peer-networking circles, external mentoring, strengths assessments, and a structured opportunity to build professional connections. The program aims to help participants develop skills, deepen networks, and advance in their careers with confidence.

Maria Lungu — postdoctoral researcher in the Digital Technology for Democracy (DTD) Lab at the Karsh Institute — has been selected to serve on the NPA Postdoc Council (PDC) for the 2026–2027 term. The Postdoc Council is a 12-member body composed of active postdoctoral scholars from across the country. Its role is to provide a dedicated postdoctoral perspective to the NPA Board of Directors and Executive Director regarding issues and policies affecting the postdoctoral community nationwide.

The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs congratulates Dr. Lungu and Dr. Wilson-Lemoine on these achievements!
