You have a lot of choices about how to communicate your research. In this session, we will use a message scheme called And-But-Therefore to organize your message in a compelling way for your audience.  Level 1 RCS is a 4-session training series that covers audience analysis, message design, slide preparation, and writing in plain language. All sessions will be held via Zoom.    In order to receive the PhD+ credential for this series, you must attend 3 out of 4 sessions.   Register here by July 19 at 12:00PM to receive workshop materials. 

Have you ever heard anyone say, "know your audience"? That's great advice, but how do you do it? In this session, we will explore the "how" of getting to know your audience. PhD+ Career Design skills series in Summer 2021 will be offered every Tuesday between June 15– July 13, 4-5 pm (5 weeks equal to 5 hours in-class time. Excludes preparation time). We encourage Postdoctoral Scholars at all stages of training to participate.  This is the fifth and final session of PhD Plus Career Design skills series LEARNING OUTCOMES: In this session, trainees Postdocs will learn strategies to Synergize lessons learned in last four sessions Create an individual development plan: Set short-term and long-term goals to broaden knowledge of career options, build professional community, and develop skills and experiences. Essentially, it involves introspecting your relationship to the world of work and outlining your core values, skills and interests, through worksheets and online tools like myIDP for STEM, ChemIDP for Chemistry-related and ImaginePhD for Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. In this session, trainees will contemplate on their Relationship to work Likes and dislikes in areas of work Values driving decisions and motivations Skills they value This session will involve pre-workshop and post-workshop preparation.
